Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in Intramural Sports?
All currently-enrolled students with valid Student ID cards, and Faculty and Staff shall be eligible to participate in the Intramural Sports Program.

How do I register my team?
An entry form must be completed for each team and each sport. There are a number of sports that will follow an Instant Scheduling process. Please see the entry form which is available online or at the Wellness Center. All team fees must be paid at the time of registration. Contact information for both a manager must be listed on the entry form.

If there is inclement weather, will my game be cancelled?
All games that are cancelled or postponed due to weather can be found on the Hotline, 231-8617. Please do not call the Wellness Center for your schedule or cancellation questions.All cancellations will be updated on the hotline as soon as the decision is made.You may also check the Wellness Center webpage for updates throughout the day. Usually, cancellations are not made prior to 2:00 pm on a given day due to weather concerns.

What if I do not have enough people to form a full team?
If you cannot find enough people to make a team, take a chance by becoming a "free agent." Just show up at the captain's meeting and an announcement will be made that individuals are looking for a team. If you can't make the captain's meeting, but still want to be a free agent, contact JoVal Wettlaufer at 231-7384.

• Unfortunately spots are not guaranteed, but we will try our best to place everyone on a team who wishes to play.

Free agents also are encouraged to attend the manager's meeting as another means of finding a team.

What if I cannot find my ID-card?
If a player on your team does not have their NDSU ID card, they must show some form of photo ID.

How do I become an official?
Officials are always needed for the following sports: Softball, Flag Football, Basketball, and Volleyball. Please contact JoVal Wettlaufer at 231-7384 for more information.

When do I have to submit my final roster?
Your roster will be formed by having each player check in with the game official and have their name printed on the roster. This process is done during each regular season game, and all players must play in one regular-season game to be eligible for playoffs.

Rosters are finalized by the third game of regular season play.
